BELTRAIDE TALENT FAIR 2017


Through its technical units of BelizeINVEST and the Belize Training and Employment Centre (BTEC), BELTRAIDE is pleased to announce its first ever Talent Fair 2017 to be held at the BTEC Enterprise Room on the ITVET Compound on Freetown Road in Belize City on August 17, 18 and 19, 2017 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The aim of the Talent Fair is to enable potential employees to join BELTRAIDE’s employment database through a brief registration in an effort to better match talent capacity with potential existing and future investments in Belize.

Attendees can include anyone sixteen (16) years of age or older with basic computer skills within a 60 minutes commuting distance to Belize City. Bi-lingual capabilities in English and Spanish is also a plus. Recent or upcoming secondary (High School) and tertiary (Junior College / University) level graduates are also welcome to attend in joining the database for potential employment matchmaking.

Participants are requested to bring along an identification card and a copy of their resume. Should assistance be required on participants’ resumes, BELTRAIDE’s offices can be contacted for support prior to the Fair at BTEC on the ITVET Campus in Belize City or at 14 Orchid Garden St. in Belmopan.

Belize Investment Portfolio Campaign Public Sector Sensitization Session


The Ministry of Economic Development, Petroleum, Investment, Trade and Commerce, through the Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE) in collaboration with Connect Americas and the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (CAIPA), is launching the Belize Investment Portfolio Campaign. The campaign is expected to foster the development of a national portfolio to fast-track investment generation efforts, both local and foreign, through targeted matchmaking of pre-packaged investment concepts and projects.

Through the advancement of this campaign, BelizeINVEST, a unit of BELTRAIDE, mandated to serve as Belize’s National Investment Promotion Agency (IPA), expects to further substantiate investment concepts submitted by key public sector Government Ministries and stakeholders into actionable business cases aligned with national development priorities.

Accordingly, a public sector focal point sensitization session was held on November 2nd, 2016 at the Central Information Technology Office (CITO) Training Room  in presenting the e-Portal developed to capture investment concepts to advance the investment generation endeavor. There were over fifteen (15) representatives crossing Government Ministries and Departments.

 

The official launch of the Belize Investment Portfolio Campaign will be held on November 25th, 2016 at the Cahal Pech Room of  Radisson Fort George, Hotel and Marina commencing at 9:00 am.

Business Outsourcing Provider’s Summit Belize !


Government officials from Belize and private sector representatives will meet in February to discuss a new Commonwealth strategy to improve the country’s business services sector.

The meeting, which will take place on 17 February in Belize City, will be an opportunity to examine the benefits of increasing the country’s business services and identify priorities for policy and institutional reform. The strategy was developed by the Commonwealth Secretariat in collaboration with the Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (Beltraide).

Businesses services cover a wide range of activities including accounting, data processing, IT-related services and telecommunications. Governments and businesses around the world outsource a proportion of these services to make efficiency gains or as part of a wider corporate strategy.

The global business services outsourcing industry is expanding in the Latin America and Caribbean region and accounts for 9% of all foreign investment in business outsourcing. More companies in large markets, such as the United States, are opting to outsource non-core business activities to countries close by that can offer services at a lower cost, creating opportunity for Belize and other countries in the region.
