BTEC, BELTRAIDE completes Job Preparedness Training in Independence


The Belize Training and Employment Centre (BTEC), a unit of BELTRAIDE , in partnership with the Independence High School, has successfully completed a Job Preparedness training in Independence Village.

Participants were trained for three weeks of which the the first two weeks were facilitated primarily by BTEC staff and covered soft skills such as professionalism, resume building, communication skills, conflict management as well as customer service excellence. In the final week of training, participants parted into their technical groups of Waitstaff and Basic AC Repair which were facilitated by Mrs. Vanita Bardalez and Rudel and Danilo Coc respectively. To celebrate the accomplishments of the 25 participants, a certificate ceremony was held on August 6, 2019 in the Independence High School Auditorium where participants were awarded certificates of completion in their respective fields.

The Belize Training and Employment Centre and in extension, BELTRAIDE, remains committed to develop a cadre of well-trained, marketable and self sufficient individuals that can confidently compete in the marketplace.

BELTRAIDE meets with representatives from The State of Qatar to discuss new avenues for investment in Belize


Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE), represented by our Executive Director, Dr. Leroy Almendarez, met with Ms. Margaret Juan, Chargé d’affaires at the Embassy of Belize in El Salvador, Ms. Jenny G Iglesias Zablah and Sr. Tariq Othman Fakhroo, officials from The State of Qatar today to discuss the exploration of new investment avenues in Belize.

This meeting sought to identify key areas of business interest in Belize that would generate the most investment and also discussed the plan to have two investment missions between Belize and Qatar to propel this initiative.

BELTRAIDE continues to enhance Belize’s prosperity by fostering investor confidence, entrepreneurship,  business growth and innovation by enabling a dynamic and competitive business environment for Belize’s Socio-economic development.

BTEC, BELTRAIDE completes Soft Skills and Customer Service Training with Mahogany Bay Village


On Friday, November 9th 2018, The Belize Training and Employment Centre (BTEC), a unit of BELTRAIDE completed a 2 week training for the staff  of Mahogany Bay Village in San Pedro. The training encompassed a week of soft skills which covered professionalism, work ethic, communication skills and one week of customer service which focused on handling customer complaints , telephone etiquette and more!

BTEC, BELTRAIDE holds Certificate Ceremony for the Basics of Caregiving


The Belize Training and Employment Centre ( BTEC) , a unit of Beltraide , held a certificate ceremony for its Basics of Care-giving Training on April 28th at the George Price Centre for Peace and Development in Belmopan.

This five week training sought to prepare participants to work for and on behalf of the elderly.

The training included soft skills such as professionalism, work ethic, resume building and interview preparation; technical skills, First-Aid  and CPR  provided by the Belize Emergency Response Team (BERT) as well as an internship at the Sister Cecilia’s Home for the Elderly in Belize City.

This training was done in partnership with the National Council on Ageing and made possible through financial support from the Belize Natural Energy Charitable Trust. Beltraide expresses a special thank you to  all who made this initiative possible

BELTRAIDE and The Nature Conservancy hold Seaweed Cultivation Training in Little Water Caye


The Nature Conservancy, in partnership with  EXPORTBelize, a unit of the Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE) held a Seaweed Cultivation Training from March 3rd – March 5th in Little Water Caye; which provided both a theory session along with hands on experience to fishermen in seaweed farming and cultivation. This initiative was one of many activities under a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) signed in November 2016. A key objective of this MOC is to support fisheries diversification through the development of a sustainable seaweed industry in Belize.

 

This three day training was facilitated by Placencia Producers Cooperative Society Limited, whose members have previously received intensive training and certification in seaweed cultivation. Ten participants from four fishing cooperatives along with a representative from EXPORTBelize and TNC were trained and received certificates.  The participants included representatives from Toledo Fishermen Association, Sarteneja Fishermen Association, Wabaffu Fishermen Association and Turneffe Seaweed Farmers. The training included seaweed cultivation techniques, farm building and designing, harvesting techniques and the drying process.
