Belize Investment Portfolio Campaign to fast-track investment in Belize


The Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE), is pleased to announce the official launch the Belize Investment Portfolio Campaign on Friday, 25th November at the Radisson Fort George Hotel.

BELTRAIDE is able to present this historic campaign in support by its line ministry, the Ministry of Economic Development, Petroleum, Investment, Trade and Commerce, as well by ConnectAmericas, of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies, (CAIPA).

The countrywide campaign is expected to foster the development of a national portfolio to fast-track investment generation efforts, both local and foreign, through targeted matchmaking of pre-packaged investment concepts and projects.

Through the advancement of the campaign, BELTRAIDE, through its technical unit BelizeINVEST, mandated to serve as Belize’s National Investment Promotion Agency (IPA), expects to further substantiate selected investment concepts submitted by key public sector Government Ministries and stakeholders into actionable business cases aligned with national development priorities.

Additionally, the campaign strives to support qualified private sector investment projects seeking financing and / or investment partners by promoting and matchmaking these “shovel ready” business opportunities through various platforms regionally, inclusive of ConnectAmericas and CAIPA, key supporters and collaborators of this initiative in Belize.

 

The official launch of the Belize Investment Portfolio Campaign will be held on Friday, November 25th, 2016 at the Cahal Pech Room, Radisson Fort George Hotel and Marina, Belize City commencing at 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. The Ministry of Economic Development, Petroleum, Investment, Trade and Commerce, through the Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE) in collaboration with Connect Americas and the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (CAIPA), is launching the Belize Investment Portfolio Campaign. The campaign is expected to foster the development of a national portfolio to fast-track investment generation efforts, both local and foreign, through targeted matchmaking of pre-packaged investment concepts and projects.

Accordingly, a public sector focal point sensitization session was held on November 2nd, 2016 at the Central Information Technology Office (CITO) Training Room  in presenting the e-Portal developed to capture investment concepts to advance the investment generation endeavor. There were over fifteen (15) representatives crossing Government Ministries and Departments.

 

The official launch of the Belize Investment Portfolio Campaign will be held on November 25th, 2016 at the Cahal Pech Room of  Radisson Fort George, Hotel and Marina commencing at 9:00 am.

Enhancing the Caribbean’s Foreign Direct Investment Strategy


Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export), in collaboration with the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion agencies (CAIPA), hosted their 4th Annual CAIPA General Assembly at the Radisson Fort George Hotel & Marina, Belize on November 21-22, 2013.

Under the theme ‘Towards an Enhanced FDI Strategy: Strengthening our Foundation and Honouring Regional Excellence’ Investment Promotion Agency (IPA)officials from Member countries that include: Antigua   and   Barbuda,   Bahamas,   Barbados,   Belize, the Cayman Islands, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago and the Turks & Caicos Islands, focused attention on the development of  CAIPA’s Strategic and Sustainability Plan (2014-2018). The Plan is being developed with the assistance if Ideas to Business Limited.

CARIBBEAN EXPORT AND CAIPA LAUNCH THE
REGIONAL INVESTOR OF THE YEAR AWARD 2013

Bridgetown, Barbados, September 4, 2013.  Caribbean Export Development Agency, in collaboration with the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion agencies (CAIPA), is pleased to announce the launch of the first Regional Investor of the Year Award for the members of CAIPA. Member countries include: Antigua   and   Barbuda,   Bahamas,   Barbados,   Belize, the Cayman Islands, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago and the Turks & Caicos Islands.

 

A regional investor is being defined as an investor into one or more of the aforementioned territories in the region. The Regional Investor of the Year Award has been developed to recognize and promote the contribution of both local investors within the region and foreign investors to the region. Their contributions include the creation of new jobs, adherence to high standards of corporate social responsibility, capital spending and largely fiscal support to economies through payment of corporate taxes, inter alia.

RFP NOTICE- CONSULTANT: STRATEGIC PLANNER


CE Logo 2013 Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export), in collaboration with the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (CAIPA), invites proposals from qualified contractors to provide consultancy services for the execution of a Strategic and Sustainability Plan (2014-2018) for CAIPA. Contractors are invited to submit a detailed technical proposal that demonstrates their capacity to undertake the assignment and a financial proposal.

  The proposed consultancy is being undertaken in the context of the 10th European Development Fund Regional Private Sector Development Programme.

Suitable applicants must submit a proposal (including a technical and a financial sub- section) that seeks to achieve the stated objectives.

The deadline for all submissions is 1 July 2013 at 4:30 pm (AST). Late submissions will not be accepted.
