Caribbean Digital Impact Advisory Fund | Request For Proposals

The Digital Impact Advisory Fund is part of the IDB Lab EcoMicro portfolio – COVID-19 Recovery and Resilience Through Digitalization of Caribbean FIs And Their Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Clients which is executed by DAI Global. The objective of this project is to increase the adoption of digital innovations that promote business and resilience and enhance productivity among FIs and their MSME clients.

Micro-Enterprise Utility Start-Up Package – “An immediate relief measure for entrepreneurs and new starts-up”


The Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE) is pleased to announce the “Micro-Enterprise Utility Start-up Package” for the promotion, strengthening and support of the newly registered Micro Enterprise (ME). Micro Enterprise is defined as a business with:

a) less than 5 employees; or

b) less than $100,000 in annual sales; and

c) less than $50,000 in capital investment.

With the support of the Government of Belize, through its Office of Public-Private Dialogue, BELTRAIDE had partnered with the Belize Telemedia Ltd (BTL), Belize Water Services Ltd. (BWSL,) and Belize Electricity Ltd. (BEL) to make this initiative possible. These three key utility service providers will be offering attractive packages for new starts-up businesses. The packages will waive connection fees and deposits for these three utilities.

GSR ENERGY AND BAGASSE CO-GENERATION PROJECT RECEIVES GRANT FUNDING


“GSR Energy Limited is one of the winners of the 2012 IDEAS Energy Innovation Contest for the Caribbean.  The award is in the form of a grant for the Bagasse Co-Generation Project. An excerpt from the link in regards to the contest is provided below.

After three years of self-funded effort, GSR Energy Limited’s Bagasse Co-Generation Project has received a vote of confidence from an international consortium.

In addition to grant funding, GSR Energy Limited will receive technical and business development support to implement the Sugar Cane Bio-Refinery Project which is comprised of the Bagasse Co-Generation Project fully integrated with an Ethanol Plant.

GSR Energy Limited will also receive access to other experts, policy makers, institutions and potential financial partners.”
