EXPORTBelize, a unit of BELTRAIDE, in collaboration with the Embassy of the United States of America facilitated a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Webinar on Friday March 17th, 2017, at the US Embassy in Belmopan. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services in the United States responsible for protecting the public health by assuring the safety of Human Drugs, Vaccines blood products, medical devices and Food. The Webinar was presented by Mr. Allan Gonzalez, International Regulatory Analyst for FDA.  Participants included to government stakeholders and private sector companies. Key topics covered were:

  • Jurisdiction and responsibility of the FDA
  • FDA registration process
  • Facility inspections and follow-ups
  • Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)

The aim of this session was to inform local companies on requirements to export into the US.
