EXPORTBelize along with the Directorate General for Foreign Trade have been closely monitoring the trends of products recurring on the Common External Tariff (CET) Suspension List.
Today at the Radisson Fort George Hotel and Marina, the Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE) launched the Belize Investment Portfolio Campaign. The campaign is expected to foster the development of a national portfolio to fast-track investment generation efforts, both local and foreign, through targeted matchmaking of pre-packaged investment concepts and projects.

The Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE), is pleased to announce the official launch the Belize Investment Portfolio Campaign on Friday, 25th November at the Radisson Fort George Hotel.
BELTRAIDE is able to present this historic campaign in support by its line ministry, the Ministry of Economic Development, Petroleum, Investment, Trade and Commerce, as well by ConnectAmericas, of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies, (CAIPA).
The countrywide campaign is expected to foster the development of a national portfolio to fast-track investment generation efforts, both local and foreign, through targeted matchmaking of pre-packaged investment concepts and projects.
Through the advancement of the campaign, BELTRAIDE, through its technical unit BelizeINVEST, mandated to serve as Belize’s National Investment Promotion Agency (IPA), expects to further substantiate selected investment concepts submitted by key public sector Government Ministries and stakeholders into actionable business cases aligned with national development priorities.
Additionally, the campaign strives to support qualified private sector investment projects seeking financing and / or investment partners by promoting and matchmaking these “shovel ready” business opportunities through various platforms regionally, inclusive of ConnectAmericas and CAIPA, key supporters and collaborators of this initiative in Belize.
The official launch of the Belize Investment Portfolio Campaign will be held on Friday, November 25th, 2016 at the Cahal Pech Room, Radisson Fort George Hotel and Marina, Belize City commencing at 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. The Belize Training & Employment Centre (BTEC) Trains 60 persons in the Independence/ Placencia Area
The Belize Training and Employment Centre (BTEC), a unit of BELTRAIDE, one of the leading industry specific training centers in Belize, today held a certificate ceremony at the Independence High School in Independence Village. Sixty participants received certificates in areas of Lifeguard training; Gardening and Landscaping; Hospitality and wait staff; Introduction to Bartending and Housekeeping and Janitorial services. The training was geared towards persons who are employed or seeking employment in the various fields.
Also at the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) was signed between BELTRAIDE and the Independence High School (IHS) . The MOC entails BELTRAIDE doing more job – preparedness training of students and out of school residents in the area, while IHS will provide classrooms for such trainings and assist with recruitment of participants in the area. Signing on behalf of IHS was principal Mr. Omar Longsworth and on behalf of BELTRAIDE was General Manager, Ms. Lejia Melanie Gideon
.The five different trainings took three weeks and were in held in both Placencia and Independence. Participants were from several different communities in the area.The gardening and landscaping class along with BELTRAIDE and the Ministry of Agriculture also handed over a garden they had prepared to the students of the Independence High School.
