The Belize Training and Employment Centre (BTEC), a unit of the Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE), in conjunction with the Belize Central Prison, Kolbe Foundation and Restore Belize today held a certificate ceremony for a programme entitled “Equipped for Work/Makin’ It Work Job Preparedness Training” to provide persons leaving correctional facilities with the necessary tools and skills to become productive members of society.

The eleven week programme which included participants from the Wagner’s Youth Facility, Tango 2 Division, and the female unit of the Belize Central Prison, lasted from February 9^th to April 22^nd, 2016 and covered Personal Development and Healthy Self Image; Work Habits and Conduct; Bridging the Gap/Makin It Work; Customer Service; Resume Writing and Interview Skills and provided a platform for participants to improve their communication skills and develop short and long term goals for self-betterment.

To celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of the fifteen (15) successful participants, the Belize Training and Employment Centre today distributed certificates of completion at a ceremony held at the Belize Central Prison Auditorium. Guest speaker for the event was the Hon. Tracy Panton and CEO of the prison facilities Mr. Virgilio Murillo.
