The Small Business Development Centre Belize (SBDCBelize), BELTRAIDE hosted a delegation of regional officials and a member of the Caribbean Leadership Project on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, under the theme “leading through others”. The Caribbean Leadership Project is a seven year project funded by the government of Canada. One of the key components of the project is a multi-phased Leadership Development Programme (LDP) targeting the top three levels of leadership in the public sector in twelve participating countries and key regional institutions.

The LDP alumni on the ground in Belize identified the Small Business Development Centre to be an outstanding example of adaptive leadership, in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. The meeting took form of an interactive dialogue, where the challenges and successes associated with leading through others and the contributing factors which have led to the formation of effective partnerships between SBDCBelize and stakeholders was explored. After the meeting the alumni was invited to attend a small expo where clients of SBDCBelize displayed their products and services.

BelizeINVEST, BELTRAIDE was invited to speak at the Belize edition of the Live and Invest Overseas 2016 conference held on January 20^th, 2016 at the Ramada – Princess Hotel and Casino in Belize City, Belize. The Live and Invest Overseas conference hosts attendees from the U.S. and Canada interested in learning more about the various benefits Belize has to offer as a retirement destination as well as a business hub in Latin America and the Caribbean. Today’s conference hosted over 120 participants that were able to learn more about the economy, investment opportunities and government incentives available to invest in Belize. Additionally, the conference hosts various presentations from a wide array of local and international speakers that provide further information on residency, taxes, bank accounts, corporations, holding structures, health insurance, real estate options and employment or entrepreneurial opportunities.
