Beltraide continues to enhance Belize’s prosperity by fostering investor confidence and creating an enabling business environment. As part of this effort, members of Beltraide attended a ground breaking ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 18^th at Itz’ana Resort and Residences in Placencia. The event was attended by key players in the tourism industry as well as representatives of various government departments. Mrs Kim Simplis-Barrow, wife of Prime Minister Barrow, was among the special invited guests.

• Itz’ana proposes to develop a high-end resort occupying 20 acres of land which lies approximately 1 mile south of Seine Bight Village;
• The resort will be equipped with 115 rooms and villas planned over 2 phases of development;
• Official opening will be in December 2016 with 65 rooms available; the remaining 50 villas will be constructed by July 2017;
• Projected employment in excess of 300 full time employees at full operation

Beltraide was among over 20 exhibitors at the University of Belize’s Second Science Open Day & Expo, which was held on Friday, 27^th November at the UB campus in Belmopan.  

Hundreds of university, visiting primary and high school students had the opportunity to learn more about the services being offered by Beltraide.

Beltraide is the Government’s main agency for attracting new investors to Belize as well as assisting local businessmen to improve their products and services.

Beltraide also offers a myriad of services to small and potential businessmen through its Small Business Development Centre (SBDC) and the Belize Training & Education Centre (BTEC), which are based in Belize City.
