Exploring Business Opportunities in Cuba!


EXPORTBelize, BELTRAIDE participated  in La Feria International de La Havana (FIHAV) 2015 in Havana , Cuba from November 2nd – 6th. FIHAV is a multi-sectorial trade fair which had representation from over 60 countries showcasing their products throughout 25 different pavilions.  Exhibitors had opportunity to establish contacts, close business deals, exchange business experiences and become familiar with new technological developments.

EXPORTBelize participated in pre-arranged business meetings which were facilitated by the Embassy of Belize in Cuba and the Cuban Chamber of Commerce.  The objective of our participation was to conduct an initial assessment of the opportunities for Belizean products to be exported and to learn how to conduct business in Cuba.  Some of products of interest includes chocolate liqueur, corn, beans, juices, hot sauces, furniture, cleaning products, chicken and beef.FIHAV2

EXPORTBelize received strong inquiries for various Belizean products and will continue discussions with Belizean producers and all the necessary government officials responsible for importation in Cuba to facilitate matchmaking and to foster trading relationships between the two countries.

Training of Trainers Business Labs on IP and Product Branding for Creative Industries


SBDCBelize  in  partnership with Young Americas Business Trust (YABT), Organization of American States (OAS), Ministry of MASHAV – Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jerusalem and The Golda Meir Mount Camel International Training Centre (MCTC) coordinated a five day Business Lab focused on Intellectual Properties and Commercialization of Creative Industries held from November 9th to November 13th, 2015 at the Belize Training and Employment Centre (BTEC) Building located in Freetown Road,  ITVET Compound, Belize City.

The objective of this workshop is to provide tools and skills to national institutions that implement economic development programs by providing potential local trainers and facilitators with a flexible and effective methodology to create a heightened awareness among nationals and to explore opportunities along with the related steps to start up their business. Additionally, it will focus on providing participants with hands on training and helping them acquire tools that will aid them in the development of innovative ideas and their implementation.

The workshop opened on Monday, 9th November at 8:00am sharp at BTEC, with remarks from Ambassador Orem Bar El, Ambassador of Israel to Belize and El Salvador and Ambassador Nestor Mendez, the Chair of the Inter-American Council for InteAS.

BELTRAIDE and McNab Publishing launch Vol. 4 Invest Belize Magazine


BELTRAIDE, in partnership with McNab publishing launched Volume 4 of the Invest Belize Magazine on November 2, 2015. Since 2012, the Invest Belize magazine published by BELTRAIDE serves as an effective promotional platform for Belize, showcasing business success stories and investment opportunities. This platform has enabled businesses in Belize to be seen by thousands of readers every year both nationally and internationally.

The publication’s objective is to provide investors with firsthand information on Belize inclusive of up to date statistics, articles, success stories and ads of projects and services being offered by Belizean enterprises, thus truly enabling a one-stop-shop for matchmaking and promotion! BelizeINVEST, the unit of BELTRAIDE charged with investment generation and aftercare, specifically champions the magazine by including it in investment packages presented at various international trade shows, expos as well as a strong presence at our foreign offices through the diplomatic core. In essence, the publication is a global one placing Belize on the map while targeting specific projects and investments within the priority investment sectors.

A part of this innovation being the Invest Belize magazine of course!
