BELTRAIDE, in partnership with ITVET, DFC, and Belize City Council, is pleased to announce the opening of the Small Business Development Centre (SBDC) in November, 2012. The SBDC Belize is specially targeting the Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSME), which are key contributors to employment and Belize GDP.  Its role is to enhance competitiveness of Belizean businesses by offering (1) focused capacity building, 2) supports entrepreneurship, and 3) specialized business development services, mentoring, and incubation support. The Centre will be located at the ITVET campus in Belize City.

As a result, BELTRAIDE is seeking two (2) qualified persons to fill the posts of:

 (1) Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

  • Minimum of Associate’s Degree in Business or related field.
  • Minimum of one year in business support with experience in working with the MSME sector.
  • Second language would be an asset (preferably Spanish).
  • Computer literate in most Microsoft applications.
  • Provides quality customer service and responds to inquires about the SBDC Belize services.
  • Maintain confidentially at all times especially on clients records.
  • Provide logistics support, such as preparing travel documents and reimbursements.
  • Oversee daily operating activities such as procurements and appointments.
  • Collaborate with counsellors in developing new processes such as client in-take and follow-up processes.
  • Assist counsellors in data collection.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills, including presentation skills.

(2)  Junior Counsellor

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.
  • Minimum of one year in business support with experience in working with the MSME sector.
  • Second language would be an asset (preferably Spanish).
  • Computer literate in most Microsoft applications.
  • Provide advisory services focused on creating economic impact.
  • Manage special projects and offer services in their assigned locations.
  • Promote the SBDC Belize services within the community and to potential clients.
  • Document client and training activities in WebCAT software.
  • Assist with training events and other related functions.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills, including presentation skills.
