2nd Modular Training for the establishment of Small Business Development Centers in Belize-

“SBDC Consulting and Training Service”

July 3, 2012– BELTRAIDE in collaboration with the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), the Organization of American States (OAS), and Caribbean Export Development Agency (CEDA) will be conducting its 2nd Modular Training on the 4th and 5th of  July 2012 at the Belize House of Culture in Belize City commencing at 8:30am – 5:00pm.   The participants will be focusing on adopting techniques in the following areas: (1) how an SBDC Counselor organizes his/her time, (2) tips for effective consulting sessions, (3) how to develop an SBDC training program, (4) how to promote SBDC in the community (5) why do we operate specialized SBDCs. The Summer Fancy Food Show was held June 17-19th, in Washington, D.C. STANDARDS ACT  (NO. 4 OF 1992)

DECLARATION OF NATIONAL STANDARD AND INTENTION TO DECLARE A STANDARD TO BE A    MANDATORY STANDARD

THE BELIZE BUREAU OF STANDARDS hereby declares, pursuant to Section 8 of the Standards Act (No. 4 of 1992) that as of June 28th, 2012, the following standard shall be a national standard, namely: the Belize National Standard Specification for Inspection, Testing and Re-qualification of Portable Cylinders for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).

  1. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Minister responsible for standards and standards related matters, the Hon. Erwin Contreras, intends to declare the BELIZE NATIONAL STANDARD SPECIFICATION FOR INSPECTION, TESTING AND REQUALIFICATION OF PORTABLE CYLINDERS FOR LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS (LPG)  to be a mandatory standard with effect from the 10th of August, 2012. STANDARDS ACT   (NO. 4 OF 1992)

DECLARATION OF NATIONAL STANDARD AND INTENTION TO DECLARE A STANDARD TO BE A MANDATORY STANDARD

      THE BELIZE BUREAU OF STANDARDS hereby declares, pursuant to Section 8 of the Standards Act (No. 4 of 1992) that as of June 28th, 2012, the following standard shall be a national standard, namely: the Belize National Standard Specification for Marking and Labelling of Gas Cylinders.

  1. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Minister responsible for standards and standards related matters, the Hon. Erwin Contreras, intends to declare the BELIZE NATIONAL STANDARD SPECIFICATION FOR MARKING AND LABELLING OF GAS CYLINDERS to be a mandatory standard with effect from the 10th of August, 2012.
  1. The standard referred to in paragraph 2 above is intended primarily:
    1. To protect the consumer or user against danger to health and safety;
    2. To ensure quality in goods produced for home use or for export;
    3. To prevent fraud or deception arising from misleading advertising or labeling; and
    4. To require adequate information to be given to consumer or user.
  1. Copies of the standard are available from the office of the Belize Bureau of Standards located at the Ministry of Works Compound, Power Lane, Belmopan City or by submitting request to bbs@btl.net.
  1. ANY PERSON having objections to the above-cited standard being declared a national or mandatory standard, as the case may be,  should communicate such objections and the reasons thereof in writing or in person to the Director, Belize Bureau of Standards, P.O. Box 430, Belmopan City on or before  July 31st, 2012.
