The Belize Trade & Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE) would like to extend a sincere thank you to the stakeholders, who attended the Final National Symposium, in which Dr. Michael Seepersaud presented the final draft of the MSME Policy and Strategy for Belize.
The Final National MSME Symposium was held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Belize Biltmore Hotel. The definitional framework, polices, strategies and the MSME Development Act was presented. The aim of the symposium was to validate the MSME Policy and Strategy recommended by the Consultant. Participants from the private and public sector shared their views, perceptions and feedback, through their participation, in the Final National Symposium.
The MSME Policy addresses the following strategic issues; definitions of enterprises (Micro, Small, Medium); legislative policy; increasing the flow of capital; market access and competiveness; education and training; and institutional framework and support services.
The next step is to present the MSME Development Act to the Government of Belize for approval. BELTRAIDE will follow in the implementation of the MSME policy and strategy.
